My Etsy shop was up and running. I just got comfortable and blogging took a back seat. I crafted for my shop and that seemed to be enough.<br />
<br />
Until.......<br />
<br />
A disagreement with Etsy resulted in them just closing down my shop without warning. 100% positive feedback, all fees paid, no complaints that I was aware of. To this day they have yet to respond to any of the emails that I sent them. I was crushed. They wouldn't even give me my outstanding order information to fill them. So I got mad and than sad. It really made me realize how much the crafting and the networking meant to me.<br />
<br />
After doing some research I finally found a home on <a href="http://www.zibbet.com/LoopyLoopCreations" target="_blank">Zibbet.</a> It seems a lot of shops are making their way over there from Etsy. I love that their fee is a flat rate each month regardless of listing and sales. The community is awesome! Everybody really tries to help promote others. Still working through the slow process of getting all of my stuff listed but I will get there.<br />
<br />
So long story short is that I let life get in the way until I got a painful reality check but I correct that going forward!Loopy Loop Creationshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16433376608470145018noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8413817086612840594.post-71784887504319031112012-05-16T16:03:00.002-04:002012-05-16T16:26:59.625-04:00Mod Podge Magnetic Ribbon Bookmarks<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Say that fast three times.......</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial;">Made one for each of the girls:</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Glued the blank to the tile using E6000. I have had several people ask me where I get my blanks from so this is probably the real reason behind the post. I have found Etsy to be the cheapest place to get them. I use <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/85495633/50-pcs-silver-adjustable-ring-setting" target="_blank">Discount Beads</a>. I get 50 with shipping for $8.50. I will warn you, I have bought from some sellers on Etsy for half the price but what they fail to tell you is not only do they take 3 weeks because they are coming from overseas but you will also be forced to go to the post office and sign for a $4.00 package! My order from Discount Beads usually arrives in 2 to 3 days.</span><br />

There are huge and exciting changes going on the home front and it has taken up a good bit of my time these past weeks including an unexpected overnight trip out of town. Not to mention I have a two festival in two weeks that I have been trying to get ready for.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">So all I have for you is a wreath I made months back.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilx66_JcYOI4GCGNtuoGrlYVnOcj08CUrVRghZWPtGne0oQiVCpDX6XDKW-V5yMpjv3rEIN-Fr8zO_oPwnBn_S9Xyy80wUt6KvKNzFji0QP7ORDglZSY9joaq9vw7evhdqc4ZI4S03nTg/s1600/blog+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilx66_JcYOI4GCGNtuoGrlYVnOcj08CUrVRghZWPtGne0oQiVCpDX6XDKW-V5yMpjv3rEIN-Fr8zO_oPwnBn_S9Xyy80wUt6KvKNzFji0QP7ORDglZSY9joaq9vw7evhdqc4ZI4S03nTg/s320/blog+001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I don't have along the way pictures but what I did was super simple. I got a quarter of a yard of each of the five fabrics. I made a small snip and basically ripped the fabric in strips. My wreath is one I picked up at the dollar store but I have also seen this done with a coat hanger. Double tied the strips and added some ribbon from my stash to hang.</span><br />

I was looking at the TV the other day when I noticed the light switch and a light went off. Yeah, I had to go there.........</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Picked up a plate at Lowe's for $.39 and adhered the paper with a coat of mod podge.</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I made this <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/184647653442473265/" target="_blank">roast in the crock pot</a> the other night and we loved it!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It was actually requested as leftovers and that says a lot in my house! The only thing I did different was use a Boston butt because it was on sale but the results were still outstanding.</span><br />
<br />

I didn't save or pin the post because I really didn't think that I had anything I needed to store. Until...... I went looking some specific fabric the other day and had to dig through a giant pile.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I picked this up at Wal-mart for about $5.00. This one has 24 pockets so I was able to not only store my fabric but my felt too! Please ignore my closet, it has its own issues.</span><br />

Let's face it though, we know I always fall back to headbands and buttons!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPu_FQZUtHP_p7sxwPR3Jg8Z6LHOBDSFwWU2RPGk_-SkB57N7I9ah74La47SsCEdTq50dYTzsZi5TyuQDs5xm2utIM2SLwmoAX0lws2Gp3jZA-9F6ALqmdmA_N-bilZLe8lx31bbdBlT0/s1600/etsy+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPu_FQZUtHP_p7sxwPR3Jg8Z6LHOBDSFwWU2RPGk_-SkB57N7I9ah74La47SsCEdTq50dYTzsZi5TyuQDs5xm2utIM2SLwmoAX0lws2Gp3jZA-9F6ALqmdmA_N-bilZLe8lx31bbdBlT0/s320/etsy+005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I cut out a 4x4 square of the peace felt and a small strip of the black to attach the headband.</span><br />
<br />

Go enter!!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Now, on to the lasagna. I really need to learn to take more appealing pictures. Food photography is truly an art!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I am really pleased on how well it turned out. I put it together the night before and stuck it in the fridge. Since the suggested cook time is 5 to 6 hours I figured that the cold would prolong the cooking since I wouldn't be home for about 7 hours and it turned out perfect!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Here's the recipe:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 lb ground beef</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 jar spaghetti sauce</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">2 small cans sliced mushrooms</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
1<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> cup water</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 15 oz container ricotta cheese</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 8 oz package mozzarella cheese, divided</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1/4 cup parmesan cheese, divided</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 egg</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">2 Tbsp parsley</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">6 uncooked lasagna noodles</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Brown the ground beef and drain. Mix with spaghetti sauce, drained mushrooms and water. Mix the ricotta, 1 1/2 cup mozzarella, 2 Tbsp parmesan, egg and parsley.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Spoon 1 cup of the meat sauce into the slow cooker. Top with half of the noodles, breaking to fit if needed. Then top with half of the cheese mixture. Cover with 2 cups of sauce and repeat the noodles and remaining cheese mixture. Top with remaining sauce.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Cover with lid.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Cook on low 5 to 6 hours or until liquid is absorbed. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Cook until melted. Let stand about 10 minutes before cutting</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Hope you enjoy it!</span><br />

Sabrina! I have sent you an email and am looking forward to see what you pick out!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Secondly, I have received a few emails asking me how I make my tile coasters so I thought I would share.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I don't really do anything different than most of the tutorials out there.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I use 4 x 4 tiles from Home Depot or Lowe's and a 12 x 12 piece of scrapbook paper for each one.</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8y9SbmHktiTshfz5aeOmkB8waSnU5PfQiNaypk6FxkelLVMRIzs3YJz-MMfXZFU1LsZXCpX63fttoeNpYlzxqSW-rjX2tpZnzJW1tn4S1lf5G2lD4azhEm-BULaaINwbtXRIwQ7-ZU14/s1600/etsy+017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8y9SbmHktiTshfz5aeOmkB8waSnU5PfQiNaypk6FxkelLVMRIzs3YJz-MMfXZFU1LsZXCpX63fttoeNpYlzxqSW-rjX2tpZnzJW1tn4S1lf5G2lD4azhEm-BULaaINwbtXRIwQ7-ZU14/s320/etsy+017.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now here is where I probably differ a little. When I first started making these I either traced or measured and cut. I have said it before, I don't do straight lines. And as a result 2 out 3 were never even. So I started winging it. Since one sheet only gives me 4, I hold the tile to each of the four corners and cut around giving me extra on each side. I then know that I have two straight sides to start with.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXNtteLW3aGroJGoFaGweNVIuwTZpIncHdNArJ3a9Ko0aom_N0NajJfwK5vtlV3IJ1AqCYwH0ksCjKDtAj7CrsFptw9WTIs9844JJ27PSWAZaAMZ9p6TqToWlIuySFXxT723qarr4-3CU/s1600/etsy+020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXNtteLW3aGroJGoFaGweNVIuwTZpIncHdNArJ3a9Ko0aom_N0NajJfwK5vtlV3IJ1AqCYwH0ksCjKDtAj7CrsFptw9WTIs9844JJ27PSWAZaAMZ9p6TqToWlIuySFXxT723qarr4-3CU/s320/etsy+020.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial;">This method work perfect for me. I then mod podge the paper on the tile (just the tile, not on top yet) and then when it dries I trim around the edges.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Then two coats of mod podge which I let dry at least 24 hours. I then spray with a clear gloss and protector, I use Rust-oleum. Let dry in the sun for several hours. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpos0ijLwh6RWye-WZkmEd64hoHe3p7Nf2dkIiegUgUjoyqO6QJo4wDf9GFCO00d9q-8pATy5Tz4CxH_qiVfVS-GJ4fIR-BV0XaGwKPz48sFWN9MUVBDZ1v9w3sDJHR78csiXOMuDWGbk/s1600/etsy+027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpos0ijLwh6RWye-WZkmEd64hoHe3p7Nf2dkIiegUgUjoyqO6QJo4wDf9GFCO00d9q-8pATy5Tz4CxH_qiVfVS-GJ4fIR-BV0XaGwKPz48sFWN9MUVBDZ1v9w3sDJHR78csiXOMuDWGbk/s320/etsy+027.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;"> Add felt pads and you are done. I use the felt pads because I sell mine but I saw a great idea the other day using a big felt square.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM9zkC8Q8F9qXmjNwUXU59ktI2NaV9k48DRG9VAo_5mmt2-MGopTh2klU4waPKeiUVHjmo3WFMCG1uFa0xETX3aav0FMlRdyqH09949pTaP8uPan1XzjfX74arLyK60CRtekpQS1syTJA/s1600/etsy+029.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM9zkC8Q8F9qXmjNwUXU59ktI2NaV9k48DRG9VAo_5mmt2-MGopTh2klU4waPKeiUVHjmo3WFMCG1uFa0xETX3aav0FMlRdyqH09949pTaP8uPan1XzjfX74arLyK60CRtekpQS1syTJA/s320/etsy+029.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcs4L1GJFi8V6zxeKA_eq_wo5jTFtsJJx-VTYsD86UeYTpJFv3-muHn9YNV1m0PUEhFtWPSlGiYXC6hmom-T0yL3mpwPj9sSIYspobKNZT2xHGeEsj9kEner8bDmeqmPOm1TLOzpfRYbw/s1600/blog+009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcs4L1GJFi8V6zxeKA_eq_wo5jTFtsJJx-VTYsD86UeYTpJFv3-muHn9YNV1m0PUEhFtWPSlGiYXC6hmom-T0yL3mpwPj9sSIYspobKNZT2xHGeEsj9kEner8bDmeqmPOm1TLOzpfRYbw/s320/blog+009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">There are many tutorials all over blog land on how to make but I figured I would go ahead and share. Since I make mine for my shop I have tried to find the cheapest way to make them but still have quality in the end. The glass tiles were driving up my cost so I decided to go with the mosaic ones. I get a bag of 50 from Michael's for about $2.75 with their coupons.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Most of my designs are scrapbook paper and after screwing many up trying to trace around and cut I just kinda hold the tile against the paper and cut generously and trim up after I have placed it on the tile.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnxtDczTuwsBQcwvg2l8Yjy8qLoPoBtkMMqrnyGLEWyf_30EQCb1aloo3W0rh_9NzSe7D-QcYVSkKC7aDWINFDeMqBSi22SCJlZTDwNDrFJJHkUsPMkIBgLoIu77_7R013MBE0kwruncw/s1600/etsy+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnxtDczTuwsBQcwvg2l8Yjy8qLoPoBtkMMqrnyGLEWyf_30EQCb1aloo3W0rh_9NzSe7D-QcYVSkKC7aDWINFDeMqBSi22SCJlZTDwNDrFJJHkUsPMkIBgLoIu77_7R013MBE0kwruncw/s320/etsy+002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Mod Podge them on. I usually do one coat to adhere the paper, let it dry and do a coat over the top. Dry and do a second coat. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEile9UkgfjQlsOlO6hX_4yf3DVDfgtzeJ4HYAGU5_iZotwifOvFt3nGVXaZh6ULfHQy9undjWGJcMiI8vP08NBZG_wahM2jeSucJ6GPHXq-X6NHJ5uQ48XaPDYHlzJzyrSdrljSpIxl5ao/s1600/etsy+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEile9UkgfjQlsOlO6hX_4yf3DVDfgtzeJ4HYAGU5_iZotwifOvFt3nGVXaZh6ULfHQy9undjWGJcMiI8vP08NBZG_wahM2jeSucJ6GPHXq-X6NHJ5uQ48XaPDYHlzJzyrSdrljSpIxl5ao/s320/etsy+005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I leave them overnight and then apply the Mod Podge Dimensional Magic. I love this stuff! It has taken me awhile but I have finally perfected 'no bubbles'. My tip, once you get started DO NOT pick the tip up until you are done. If you have to go back and add more, you are going to have a bubble. I have found the easiest way to get rid of it is by working it to the end with a straight pen. I then let them sit for at least 24 hours.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">And another side note, I have made hundreds of these and I am only about a 1/4 into my second bottle.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNRJAxlIFD2QhZqlLso7mkdJYLsJVT1aPkv9NAGvezUol1k0tYX2Q1VNlcIABdEHWQOJ4Rroy7dZ7DeEkT1wV9r7B2-2x6RgIfyi0qhZJYBVDjq0P7C4LaojxyFlrFDGprSpuKGeZN01Y/s1600/blog+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNRJAxlIFD2QhZqlLso7mkdJYLsJVT1aPkv9NAGvezUol1k0tYX2Q1VNlcIABdEHWQOJ4Rroy7dZ7DeEkT1wV9r7B2-2x6RgIfyi0qhZJYBVDjq0P7C4LaojxyFlrFDGprSpuKGeZN01Y/s320/blog+001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Then comes the baile. I have tried many glues to adhere. Expensive glues. I finally ended up with what should have been my first choice, E6000. The drying time is longer but in the end it is cheaper and a better bond. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">As far as the bailes go, I had been purchasing at Michael's and Joann's but someone finally clued me in on using Etsy. Much cheaper!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIcKo_h8oMJf8CZeOYkqdHFJOO0zNCyRvP1nufyBml5iLRC2QWY5z42_od1Ao2Hn10FDh65MReW4iwNBez9tXRKiJ5sgYn1tCEw_krIII1rgbm4pGFswL7JJQ2huvOEIoBmu6jF2cowYQ/s1600/blog+003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIcKo_h8oMJf8CZeOYkqdHFJOO0zNCyRvP1nufyBml5iLRC2QWY5z42_od1Ao2Hn10FDh65MReW4iwNBez9tXRKiJ5sgYn1tCEw_krIII1rgbm4pGFswL7JJQ2huvOEIoBmu6jF2cowYQ/s320/blog+003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">And there you go! Since it can be a several day process I do try to make as many as I can at a time.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I already had the hoops so they are bigger than the ones she used but go with what you got I say. I picked up a roll of this shelf liner at the dollar store.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Spray painted the hoops, put the liner in and cut around the edges.</span><br />

Between wrapping up cookie sales, orders for my shop and reading the Hunger Games there hasn't been a whole lot of time.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">And I finished the Hunger Games!! It was awesome!! I had to fight the urge to get in the car and get Catching Fire. Had I had the Kindle that is on my wish list I would have had it in minutes. I will be hitting the book store and hoping it is on the shelf. Need to figure out when I am going to see the movie.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Now as for the orders in the shop, I have had several brides contact me and ask if I could make sets of rings and/or earrings for their bridal party. Ah, yes, please!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Here is the latest one, 16 of my Mum Swirled Cabochon Rings that I explained <a href="http://www.loopyloopcreations.blogspot.com/2012/01/how-to-make-swirled-cabachon-ring.html" target="_blank">how to make here.</a></span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I also just realized I am almost to 200 followers!!! I just can not believe it!!! I am so thankful for each and everyone of you!! I think there may be a giveaway around the corner!</span><br />Loopy Loop Creationshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16433376608470145018noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8413817086612840594.post-58329383643920026312012-03-24T19:48:00.000-04:002012-03-24T19:48:21.274-04:00A Cheaper Alternative to Candle Tarts<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have these all over my house. And love them.</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkARZop-9HSqIwiyklBiKIfSNNIddQPek2jITjJ5o1C4QCtYLxe95Pssb3_WTQm7emP8Xu4LId2xwPZ91fZmlDm6sdnv3Du116G64TxnUSXWduiu1dZfvgO0jnWcPAKW9SKF0_mLnikqU/s1600/blog+008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkARZop-9HSqIwiyklBiKIfSNNIddQPek2jITjJ5o1C4QCtYLxe95Pssb3_WTQm7emP8Xu4LId2xwPZ91fZmlDm6sdnv3Du116G64TxnUSXWduiu1dZfvgO0jnWcPAKW9SKF0_mLnikqU/s320/blog+008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I try to stock up on tarts when Yankee Candle has them on sale for $1 but don't always make it. 5 or 6 of these around the house can get kinda pricey because honestly after about 5 or 6 burns I just don't smell the scent anymore. I accidentally found a cheaper way to fill them.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Awhile back I had a 'oh, what a cool idea moment' and purchased a couple of the warmer plates thinking it would be a safer way to 'burn' my candles. Well, what I didn't think about was that in order to smell a 24 oz jar candle you have to spend 5 hours waiting on it to melt from the bottom to the top each time. Or the fact that when you cut it off the first time and it solidifies burning is out because your wick is now at the bottom of the candle. So I stuck them in the cabinet and forgot about them until the other day when I had a revelation while looking for tea lights . Why not break it into pieces and use in my warmers?!?!?!?!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I went and got a cheap knife from my drawer and attempted to break it up. I was amazed by how simple it was. I thought it was possibly due to the fact it had melted before but I have since done it with new candles.</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsXlYMsGjcd7vdBJJxXAeAB_UYsXMM-Jzoc56GjECPWbTor2hrgsXpqhgUk52kO5wSuWpVtuf4tgRsbk1WjiwE3Z5EYpv8NktyypAYtu9FTPFAp5iN0913YA61nGewbqMSiBf-z7LkLfo/s1600/blog+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsXlYMsGjcd7vdBJJxXAeAB_UYsXMM-Jzoc56GjECPWbTor2hrgsXpqhgUk52kO5wSuWpVtuf4tgRsbk1WjiwE3Z5EYpv8NktyypAYtu9FTPFAp5iN0913YA61nGewbqMSiBf-z7LkLfo/s320/blog+005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The thing I love most about using the jar candles is that I can add a little bit every few days and keep the scent going! A 24 jar candle that I paid $15.99 for has lasted me 3 months! $15.99 versus the $60.00 I would have spent on tarts that were on sale. It does lock me into my scents a little but there really are only a few I love anyway.</span>Loopy Loop Creationshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16433376608470145018noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8413817086612840594.post-40805743745992321992012-03-22T19:19:00.000-04:002012-03-22T19:19:35.498-04:00Spring Mantel<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I gave you a sneak peek last week of the unfinished wood decorations I had gotten at Michael's. I finally got them finished and up on the mantel!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">After I painted the first bird blue I wished I had painted it yellow so I ran back to Michael's and got another one. I used the same colors that I used on the Spring sign I made. Kinda matchy matchy but love it anyway!!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">On a side note I finally started the Hunger Games, thanks to an early birthday gift from a friend. I love to read but lately just haven't had time. I started The Help right after it came out and made it through two chapters. I was having a hard time with the slang. Next thing I know it is the book of the year and everyone is raving about it. Didn't pick it back up but I did see the movie and wish I had. Loved it! Borrowed The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo from a friend and it remains unopened. So, I figure for once I am going to attempt to be on the current bandwagon and in the know!</span></div>

I have made several attempts, failed miserably and decided to just leave it up to her. Until I came across a recipe on the Internet.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">And forgot about it until I came across it this weekend. I printed it off but if I remember I had to cut and paste it in word so I have zero clue how I came upon it. So sadly I can't give credit where credit is due but this is so easy and good that I have to share.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTejGUKRg4IqPC1q4pXoBRCcEIi7HmqXkD6BKz5WbfFhBA2QgYX6GmyLBEq1fwtM2hCucaDsybhsqjvLkBOsh6x7cQpV8cvT6o-ryRMe4iffPfHWfWzRv8dypn-azji390vd060oUieek/s1600/blog+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTejGUKRg4IqPC1q4pXoBRCcEIi7HmqXkD6BKz5WbfFhBA2QgYX6GmyLBEq1fwtM2hCucaDsybhsqjvLkBOsh6x7cQpV8cvT6o-ryRMe4iffPfHWfWzRv8dypn-azji390vd060oUieek/s320/blog+005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>Crock Pot Chicken and Dumplings</strong></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">4 to 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">2 Tbsp of butter</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">2 cans cream of chicken soup</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 can chicken broth</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 Tbsp dried parsley</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Small can of flaky biscuits (I got the 5 count and used 4)</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Put the chicken, butter, cream of chicken, chicken broth and parsley in the crock pot and cook on low about 6 to 8 hours, or until done. Once done break up the chicken into pieces. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Take the biscuits and cut into three pieces. Peel into layers, I peeled each with about 3 to 4. Another method would be to just simple roll them into balls. I really don't think it matters which method you use.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Stir into chicken mixture and cook on high 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until done. If mixture starts to get too thick add chicken broth.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Trust me, it really is good!!</span><br />

I had been wanting to make something for an odd wall that I have in my kitchen. Over the weekend while I was playing around in the Silhouette store I came across the image for the mixer. Searched for other kitchenish images and found the whisk and bowl.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I wanted something fun and bright so I painted each of the canvases a bright color, printed the images and adhered to the canvas. Since these are flat I glued a pop top to the back to hang.</span><br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc-qT57AhiOn3WFpRpERc5equTQz6xg4JFO1T074l28gkjwf_WimWXugI6lu2nYwp2hgT-_qFOf_iKuYkGYXDY2pz5k5XvwhCg5udTFsO6lkp-SVGsGz93xi9xIRH_R49m3j3H9onP9CA/s1600/blog+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc-qT57AhiOn3WFpRpERc5equTQz6xg4JFO1T074l28gkjwf_WimWXugI6lu2nYwp2hgT-_qFOf_iKuYkGYXDY2pz5k5XvwhCg5udTFsO6lkp-SVGsGz93xi9xIRH_R49m3j3H9onP9CA/s320/blog+006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Since my recent discovery of how simple it is to make signs, <a href="http://www.loopyloopcreations.blogspot.com/2012/03/man-cave-board.html" target="_blank">found here</a>, I grabbed another piece of wood from my stash, cranked up the Silhouette machine and cut away. I painted the board yellow in the spots where I knew my vinyl was going, applied it and than painted the whole board aqua. Peeled away and was left with this. Love it!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">The flowers that I used were shapes that were included in the basic purchase of my Silhouette machine so my cost, minus the vinyl and paint that I already had was zero.</span><br />
<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The plan is that it will be part of my Spring mantel along with these finds at Micheals.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">How cute is the bird?!?!?! It was $2.99 and the wooden flowers were $1.00 each. Watch for an appearance later in the week!</span><br />

Completely unintentional. This week has flown by! Girl Scout cookies sales are winding down but the hard part of balancing everything lies ahead. When I was looking at the calendar last night to write all of the due dates down I realized that Saturday is St. Patrick's Day. While this is a holiday that I have never really decorated for I did have a couple of things in mind that I wanted to do.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">First up, shamrock on a block! I just simply painted it white and cut out a shamrock on my Silhouette. Luckily I had some green vinyl on hand.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzbt6lDJWTBF_X1SweyGlE1WtOPyBlGJ_VROvzKoTPN8NcXueHmQ_3wVfKEJm4wdq8xiBBghzZH1FN7AC78L1DYNHFS0M36VBlW9wDoRnVbauRU72KTs-xRym8pVF0ABNTZD9XLf4RA9c/s1600/blog+009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzbt6lDJWTBF_X1SweyGlE1WtOPyBlGJ_VROvzKoTPN8NcXueHmQ_3wVfKEJm4wdq8xiBBghzZH1FN7AC78L1DYNHFS0M36VBlW9wDoRnVbauRU72KTs-xRym8pVF0ABNTZD9XLf4RA9c/s320/blog+009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Next up, Shamrock Gum Container Treats, similar to the <a href="http://www.loopyloopcreations.blogspot.com/2012/02/gum-containers-sweet-valentine-treats.html" target="_blank">ones I made for Valentine's Day</a>. Rather than do a paper topper this time I decided to make smaller versions of the shamrock I used above. Cut, peeled and stuck them on. I have been looking all over for the mint M&Ms but haven't had any luck so I decided to fill them with Skittles.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">What I really like about doing them this way is that you can use the pop top!</span><br />

I mean with these ingredients how could you go wrong?</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2sqvyjkxDq3lSWJhz0SxVEPCjGT9sg6ziJGWgkGFEGZNcM8sobfZBv-GV4IhE77s61LsNm9sBC3Fqb-MGl-lwqRT11kvsppP0MRMe1jowtyCqjA2LYXWOu-6P2eWkZCPRDqXxSKYbhkQ/s1600/blog+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2sqvyjkxDq3lSWJhz0SxVEPCjGT9sg6ziJGWgkGFEGZNcM8sobfZBv-GV4IhE77s61LsNm9sBC3Fqb-MGl-lwqRT11kvsppP0MRMe1jowtyCqjA2LYXWOu-6P2eWkZCPRDqXxSKYbhkQ/s320/blog+005.JPG" width="320" yda="true" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">And super easy to make!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOO0QqTBcqOs3oT_W-yZ2C10m_bEOioR6OT1Uc_HYG__Ia4efMrvn2umoOomCxeB6ZyWS6ASEEblP9amAK9r-Zw8MEqshei-2HAV19z2wXJcg-_eKZNwIxsg5pEnXDjV3jxzsml2mcTZ8/s1600/blog+010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOO0QqTBcqOs3oT_W-yZ2C10m_bEOioR6OT1Uc_HYG__Ia4efMrvn2umoOomCxeB6ZyWS6ASEEblP9amAK9r-Zw8MEqshei-2HAV19z2wXJcg-_eKZNwIxsg5pEnXDjV3jxzsml2mcTZ8/s320/blog+010.JPG" width="320" yda="true" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The ingredients:</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Half a box of Girl Scout Peanut Butter Sandwiches, crushed</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Small box of chocolate pudding</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">2 cups milk for the pudding</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 tub of whipped topping</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I take a large bowl and mix up the pudding. Let it set for a few minutes and then sprinkle the crushed cookies over the top. Spread the whipped topping over the top. Stir, swirl, fold, until you reach the consistency that you prefer. Refrigerate for about 2 hours.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Quick, easy dessert! </span><br />

After the power ran out on my laptop I realized since the panel box was outside I didn't have to stick around so what is a great idea to do when in a few hours you are going to be writing a $1600.00 check? Go shopping!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I managed to get the 30% off code for Kohl's this time so I figured I would put it to good use!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii18fIwGEBWQ_66Dn1-U3vdxWVBYQGZVKrlmrgigBln7LbKPdHo_HBKQwf0emJKvCmTrNPWQmrwKwFuMZ9oEJlmIPazMpgOzBdpjQ2_mQIRPw5RwXwflKdRs80ix89vlOMo8h0FCl1uWY/s1600/blog+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii18fIwGEBWQ_66Dn1-U3vdxWVBYQGZVKrlmrgigBln7LbKPdHo_HBKQwf0emJKvCmTrNPWQmrwKwFuMZ9oEJlmIPazMpgOzBdpjQ2_mQIRPw5RwXwflKdRs80ix89vlOMo8h0FCl1uWY/s320/blog+006.JPG" width="320" yda="true" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now while in Kohl's I kinda had a duh moment. I haven't been able to wear pierced earrings for at least 15 years. And I don't care what you say, when you can find them the clip earrings just aren't that cute. I usually end up with two pair of silver that I rotate.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I noticed these while looking through the clearance and the idea hit me! I have clip findings at home so I looked at the post thinking that if they were at the top I could at least cut it down with wire cutters. All of these had posts at the top and most of them came off cleanly.</span><br />

We are on night three of no heat and day two of no stove. Something caused our heat and air unit to actually melt breaker boxes inside of our panel box and we are having to have it replaced tomorrow to the tune of $1600.00. While that is hard to stomach it is better than what could have been. I also have to give props to the fiance because he claimed to smell something all day Sunday and I couldn't. May have or may not have had a few disagreements regarding the fact that there was even a smell........ Our panel box is outside in a utility closet so the fact he was able to pick up on it and cut the power before things got worse is amazing. Once we get the new panel box in we get to find out if we still have a working heat and air unit. Our only saving grace is that if we find out it was related to the storms we got over the weekend than the insurance will pay.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Ok, on to the real reason I am here today..........</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXQXdxw4DSulCSS8sRN_tM9_iCEAYPLfSWLCwjJodre3OYKaOjqYzsJHXcNjz74dOT20tUb1hsWj80i-GhVh1vZxmATg9osuRx_1tVuvd6AntO0Z8C0JM4jCniDV6BCBMbpN8XsOX39sU/s1600/blog+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXQXdxw4DSulCSS8sRN_tM9_iCEAYPLfSWLCwjJodre3OYKaOjqYzsJHXcNjz74dOT20tUb1hsWj80i-GhVh1vZxmATg9osuRx_1tVuvd6AntO0Z8C0JM4jCniDV6BCBMbpN8XsOX39sU/s320/blog+001.JPG" uda="true" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Super easy beef enchilada recipe. Since this recipe makes 12, you will need two 9 x 13 baking dishes. I usually cook half and freeze the other half for another meal. Thaw out the night before, pop in the oven and they are just as good as the first batch. This is also a great dish to take to new moms, one for now, one for later. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">If you want to cut in half it's easy enough to save the cream of mushroom soup for later.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><strong>Creamy Beef Enchiladas</strong></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">2 lb lean ground beef</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 cup chopped onion</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 cup of sour cream</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">1 4 oz can chopped green chilies</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">3 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">3 cans (10 oz) enchilada sauce, divided</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">12 flour tortillas ( 8 in) warmed</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Brown the beef and onion, drain. Add the soup, sour cream, chilies, 1 cup cheese and 1/2 of the enchilada sauce. Heat through.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Spread 1/4 cup enchilada sauce into each of the two ungreased 9 x 13 baking dishes. Place 1/2 cup beef mixture down the center of each warmed tortilla. Roll up and place seam side down in each prepared dish. Pour remaining enchilada sauce over the top; sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes or until heated through.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Wish me luck that after I spend most of the day without power tomorrow while they replace the panel box that I have heat when they are done!</span><br />

I wanted to create something inspirational for him because while very qualified for his line of work anything these days is a risk. He loves Sun Tzu's Art of War so I searched on line for a fitting quote. I decided on "<span class="body"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Opportunities multiply as they are seized"</span>.</span></span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiQkrOiVl6XOUT8xEICI3aXt4JHIQnrXDW9JCeF-YnDjVDId52OM0ibXBHSG-pRbUddWr21T5XD-Yey3FhyphenhyphenLdxronNRC3f2TOIxLu7SQVVKTjtaUAygAy3_y7rIDWHaDv0LxLjrNmOWWI/s1600/etsy+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiQkrOiVl6XOUT8xEICI3aXt4JHIQnrXDW9JCeF-YnDjVDId52OM0ibXBHSG-pRbUddWr21T5XD-Yey3FhyphenhyphenLdxronNRC3f2TOIxLu7SQVVKTjtaUAygAy3_y7rIDWHaDv0LxLjrNmOWWI/s320/etsy+001.JPG" uda="true" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span class="body">Again, I didn't do step by step pictures but the process was simple.</span> </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">We already had wood from an unfinished project that we may or may not have started over 3 years ago so I grabbed a piece that measured 12" by 15". I painted it white, printed out the vinyl on my Silhouette and adhered to the board. Painted it black and then peeled the letters away. I was amazed by how professional it looked.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I fought off the urge to go to Home Depot today and have some wood cut because there are going to be many more of these in my future!</span><br />
