No Sew Curtains

I recently re-did my daughter's bedroom and was having a hard time finding curtains.  I wanted a valance and I wanted a pattern.  90% of what I found was either a solid color or way out of my price range.

I had seen something similar to this way back and while in Joann's for another reason I remembered it.

Picked out one patterened print and white broadcloth.  I got a yard of each and since it was on sale I think I may have spent $6 on the fabric. Her double window is 60 inches and two yards worked perfectly.  I then cut a small snip for the width of my strips and ripped the fabric which served two purposes for me; I can't cut a straight line and I like the wavy texture it gives it.  Each strip is a yard long.

Rotating the fabric I looped it over the rod and pulled it tight.

Here is a picture but please forgive because no matter how hard I tried I could not get a good picture with the light.

Her room has one wall painted pink and the fabric matches perfectly!

Don't forget about the Valentine crafting and cooking contest over at Bacon Time with the Hungry Hungry Hypo!

  30. When it comes to choosing the right curtains and fabric, there are a few things to consider. The first thing to consider is the function of the curtains. If you want to block out light or provide privacy, then heavier fabrics like velvet or lined cotton are a good option. If you're looking to add a decorative touch to a room, sheer or lightweight fabrics like linen or cotton are a great choice.
