Gum Containers = Sweet Valentine Treats

I have a lot of these:

And no matter how hard I try I just can't throw them away so I have been throwing them in a bag until I came up with something.  I had been tossing around the idea of something Valentine when I came across Jessica's adorable blog, Crafty Nonsense Noted.  She had listed a really cute printable of Valentine's Day cupcake toppers.  When I saw them a light bulb went off!  And let me just add they fit perfectly!!!

You can click on either the link above or the printable and it will take you to Jessica's blog.  If you print please show her some love and follow.

Ok, on to the tutorial.  I printed and cut out the toppers and mod podged them onto the top.  I am not kidding, they fit PERFECTLY.  I then cute out some hearts with my Silhouette and randomly placed them on the side.  Then filled with M&Ms and conversation hearts.  That simple.

Needless to say I won't be throwing them out ever!  I think next time I make them I will probably try to cut the pop top opening but only having a limited number this time and a printer that I was surprised had enough color to print one sheet I didn't want to take a chance of screwing them up.

Check out all of the places I party here!

  7. What a super cute idea!! I use to chew that kind of gum all the time (before the constant popping of said gum cause my teeth to hurt, LOL). I wish I had saved all those containers...it never occurred to me to reuse them....me....the queen of reuse. ;)

  35. What a great idea! I know a young girl with spina bifida who goes to AI Dupont hospital here in Delaware. Their Ronald Mcdonald house is a special area at the hospital for the families of the patients. The families are encouraged to collect soda pop tabs as a fundraiser to help fund their stays. I recently gave her a gum container filled to the brim with pop tabs :)
