Sisal Rope Placemats

I have been looking for some placemats to use outside that I don't mind getting weathered if I forget to bring them in from the deck when we are done eating.  Never found anything I liked last year and haven't started the search yet for this summer.

But problem solved!  Sisal rope and a glue gun!  I won't bore you with details because it is as simple as hot gluing and going round and round.  I found the more hot glue the sturdier it will be.  I can't tell you how expensive or inexpensive it is to make them because I had a huge spool of it from a planned project I never did but my goal was to have something that could be rained on and take the sun if left out.

And one more piece of business, the winner of the $15.00 credit to my etsy shop is Heather!  Random.org choose #15 out of #17 ( I didn't include the replies).  Heather, I have sent you an email!

Check out all of the places I party here!

  23. Very cute. I'd like it on my dining room table. I'd be interested in knowing how the glue holds up in the sun and when/if it gets wet.
