The soon to be hubs loves his Grandmother's Chicken and Dumplings. I have made several attempts, failed miserably and decided to just leave it up to her. Until I came across a recipe on the Internet.
And forgot about it until I came across it this weekend. I printed it off but if I remember I had to cut and paste it in word so I have zero clue how I came upon it. So sadly I can't give credit where credit is due but this is so easy and good that I have to share.
Crock Pot Chicken and Dumplings
4 to 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 Tbsp of butter
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 can chicken broth
1 Tbsp dried parsley
Small can of flaky biscuits (I got the 5 count and used 4)
Put the chicken, butter, cream of chicken, chicken broth and parsley in the crock pot and cook on low about 6 to 8 hours, or until done. Once done break up the chicken into pieces.
Take the biscuits and cut into three pieces. Peel into layers, I peeled each with about 3 to 4. Another method would be to just simple roll them into balls. I really don't think it matters which method you use.
Stir into chicken mixture and cook on high 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until done. If mixture starts to get too thick add chicken broth.
Trust me, it really is good!!
Check out all of the places I party here!
Great recipe and easy. First one I've seen done in the crock pot.
