Spring Mantel

I gave you a sneak peek last week of the unfinished wood decorations I had gotten at Michael's.  I finally got them finished and up on the mantel!

After I painted the first bird blue I wished I had painted it yellow so I ran back to Michael's and got another one.  I used the same colors that I used on the Spring sign I made.  Kinda matchy matchy but love it anyway!!

The flowers were $1 and the birds were $2.99 but I noticed when I was in there Sunday they are 30% off this week.  All of the birds were gone or I probably would have picked up another one.

On a side note I finally started the Hunger Games, thanks to an early birthday gift from a friend.   I love to read but lately just haven't had time.  I started The Help right after it came out and made it through two chapters. I was having a hard time with the slang.  Next thing I know it is the book of the year and everyone is raving about it.  Didn't pick it back up but I did see the movie and wish I had.  Loved it!  Borrowed The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo from a friend and it remains unopened.  So, I figure for once I am going to attempt to be on the current bandwagon and in the know!

Check out all of the places I party here!

  11. Cute birds. I like the blue and yellow colors. They look so appropriate for spring. I need to remind you to link back to my blog with each post that you link to my party. I really like your ideas and don't want to delete them. To be fair to others who observe the rules it will be necessary to do so if there is no link back. If you have a problem doing so give me a message and I will help you. Thanks for your cooperation.----------- Shannon
