Canvas Memo Board

In the spirit of getting organized I thought I would blog about something I made before blogging.  It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I haven't had a chance to do anything crafty in a few days.........

I had this problem in my kitchen:

We no longer had a land line.  I wanted to rip it out but that involved sheet rock, mudding, paint, etc.....  So I lived with it.  Bugged me every time I walked by it.  Thought about putting something over it but even if I could the connector in the middle would cause it to poke to far out from the wall and that would probably bother me more!

While working on another project it dawned on me that a canvas would work perfectly!  Got a 12x12 canvas, a sheet of 12x12 paper and mod podged together.  Had to do a little trimming to make it work but nothing noticeable (especially since it is usually covered in junk!).

Painted 6 clothespins and hot glued them on.

Sits perfectly atop the box!

I have cleaned it up since the new year but it usually holds far more paper than this and has held up beautifully!

And even though I hated the box its location has worked out perfectly because this is the section of the counter that I sort the mail and keep my keys.  Has really helped keep the junk off of the counter or remind me to grab something before I walk out of the door!

Check out all of the great places I party here!

  14. Oh what a great idea! We're slowly moving away from our landline - but luckily our only socket is tucked away near the floor in one of our smaller rooms!

Thanks for linking to a Round Tuit!
