Between Valentine's Day, my daughter's birthday, orders in my Etsy shop, being our GS troop's cookie mom and oh, working full-time there has been no crafty going on around here. Thanks to dinner out tonight I did manage to find some time to make something.
Valentine's is over and I am ready for Spring. I think this reflects that!
I had everything on hand but even with original cost it was only about $3.00 to make. I had lucked up before Christmas and came upon the green straw covered wreaths for $1. Used 5 different colors of felt and only needed one sheet of each. We all know about the button stash I have going on......
I cut the felt into 4" x 4" squares. Then I cut them like this:
Hot glued them:
Added a button and let them dry.
I decided to pin them on that way I could use both the wreath and the pinwheels later.
Rotated them around:
I used a total of 20 pinwheels and it only took me about an hour from start to finish.
Here is a close up:
I am going to try really hard to wait until March 1st to hang it up!
Check out all of the places I party here!

This is lovely! Great spring colour choices. Will it stand up to the weather? I had thought of doing something like this out of paper but it could be wrecked in the rain. Would the felt survive?? Hmm...
ReplyDeleteBronwyn,
DeleteHi!! Just realized I have the reply function now! I didn't think about that because I have a glass storm door that will protect it but I would think if you have enough of an overhang it should hold up.
Thanks for stopping by!
